We hope you all enjoyed the fantastic orienteering in super weather at Newborough Forest last weekend. Now that the clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in it is time to start our Night Series. The first event is on thursday 3rd November in Bethesda. We look forward to seeing you there.
Location: Newborough Forest. New map for event, on intricate forested sand dunes, at 1:10,000 with 2.5m contours.Unusual for sand dunes, the area also has a rocky ridge, with steep crags. Congratulations to Dave and Elen Norris on winning the recent Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon Wansfell Class. The event was held over the weekend of 2nd/3rd July based at Pooley Bridge. They covered 29K and 1375m in a total time of 5hrs 50.4
About 50 runners and bikers descended on the Gwydir Forest on Sunday, to take part in our joint Foot O and Bike O ‘Duathlon’ around the woods near the Nant BH outdoor centre (in Snowdonia).
